Advantages of using TPEE as a conveyor belt:
Excellent mechanical properties:
High strength: TPEE has high tensile strength and tear strength, can withstand large material weight and tensile force during transportation, is not easy to break or break, ensures the stability and reliability of the conveyor belt in long-term use, and can be used to convey heavier food or use in a high-load conveying environment.
Good elasticity: its elastic modulus is high, and it can quickly return to its original state after being subjected to external force, so that the conveyor belt has good cushioning performance when conveying materials, reduces the collision and damage of materials, and can play a good protective role in some vulnerable foods (such as fruits, cakes, etc.).
Good impact resistance: It can withstand the instantaneous force caused by the drop or impact of materials, reduce the risk of conveyor belt damage caused by accidental impact, and can adapt to different operating environments and working conditions in food processing and packaging.
Good chemical corrosion resistance: TPEE has good resistance to most polar liquid chemical media (such as acids, alkalis, amines and glycol compounds), and in the process of food processing, if it comes into contact with some detergents, disinfectants or acidic and alkaline components in food, the conveyor belt is not easy to be corroded, which can maintain good performance and service life, and reduce the risk of belt damage and food contamination caused by chemical corrosion.
Good hygienic performance:
Non-toxic and tasteless: in line with food hygiene standards, it will not release harmful substances when in direct contact with food, ensuring the safety of food.
Not easy to breed bacteria: the surface is smooth, not easy to adhere to dirt and bacteria, and has certain antibacterial properties, which can reduce the possibility of bacteria breeding and multiplication on the conveyor belt, reduce the risk of food contamination, easy to clean and maintain, can effectively maintain the hygiene of the conveyor belt, and meet the strict requirements of the food industry for hygienic conditions.
Wide range of temperature resistance:
Stable performance at high temperatures: TPEE can be used in a wide range of temperatures, from -70 to 200°C, and can adapt to the high temperature environment in the food processing process, such as in the high temperature processes such as baking and frying, the conveyor belt can still maintain its stable performance, no deformation, no softening.
Flexibility at low temperatures: In low temperature environments, TPEE is not easy to harden and become brittle, and has good cold resistance, such as in cold storage or food transportation in cold areas, the conveyor belt can still work normally, and will not affect the conveying efficiency and quality due to low temperatures.
Good processability:
Easy to form: It can be molded by extrusion, injection molding and other processing methods, and can manufacture conveyor belts of different shapes, sizes and structures to meet the diversified conveying needs of the food industry, such as manufacturing flat conveyor belts, pattern conveyor belts, skirt conveyor belts, etc.
Can be compounded with other materials: According to specific needs, it can be compounded with other materials (such as fabric, steel wire, etc.) to enhance some properties of the conveyor belt, such as improving the strength and wear resistance of the conveyor belt or increasing the electrostatic conductivity of the conveyor belt.
Disadvantages of making food conveyor belts with TPEE:
Higher cost: Compared with some common conveyor belt materials such as PVC, PU, etc., the raw material price of TPEE is relatively high, which leads to the higher cost of food conveyor belts made with TPEE, which may increase the equipment input cost of food production enterprises.
Some performance has limitations:
Inferior abrasion resistance to some materials: While TPEE has some abrasion resistance, it may be slightly less abrasion resistant than some specialized abrasion resistant materials, such as some polyurethane materials. When conveying some materials with high friction or in high-wear conveying environments, the belt may wear out relatively quickly and require more frequent belt replacement, affecting production efficiency and increasing maintenance costs.
Oil resistance needs to be improved: Although TPEE has some oil resistance, it may experience a certain degree of swelling or performance degradation when exposed to large amounts of oily substances or used in high-oil environments, and the suitability of TPEE belts may need to be carefully considered for some food processing or conveying scenarios with high oil content.
