Polysulfone (PSU) is an amorphous, high-performance specialty thermoplastic. Its molecular backbone consists of sulfone (-SO2-), ether (-O-), and phenylene groups. The resin exhibits a characteristic amber transparent appearance.

This natural-grade PSU is free from fillers, toughening agents, and other modification additives. It retains the intrinsic properties of the base resin to the maximum extent and serves as the foundational base resin for other modified grades.

  • High strength and rigidity: tensile strength 70-80 MPa, flexural modulus 2.6-2.7 GPa, excellent dimensional stability
  • Intrinsic flame retardancy: UL94 V-0 at 0.75 mm, LOI ~30%, halogen-free
  • Broad chemical resistance: resistant to acids, alkalis, salts and aliphatic hydrocarbons; not resistant to concentrated sulfuric/nitric acid, ketones, aromatics, chlorinated solvents
  • Good electrical performance: volume resistivity ≥ 1×10^16 Ω·cm, high dielectric strength - suitable for precision E&E applications
  • Easy processing: injection, extrusion and blow molding; pre-drying at 160-180°C for 4-6 h required
