Polyphenylene Oxide (PPO), chemically named poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide). Pure PPO resin appears as white or light-yellow powder/granules, non-toxic and amorphous, and belongs to the five major general-purpose engineering plastics worldwide.
Modified Polyphenylene Oxide (m-PPO or MPPO) refers to engineering plastic alloys/composite materials produced by blending pure PPO resin with polymers such as polystyrene (HIPS), polyamide (PA), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), or by reinforcing with glass fiber, carbon fiber, mineral fillers, etc. Modified PPO retains the excellent heat resistance, electrical insulation, and dimensional stability of PPO while significantly improving processing flowability, and can be customized for mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and flame retardancy grades according to application requirements.
