m-PPO Resin
Modified Polyphenylene Oxide (m-PPO or MPPO) refers to engineering plastic alloys/composite materials produced by blending pure PPO resin with polymers such as polystyrene (HIPS), polyamide (PA), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), or by reinforcing with glass fiber, carbon fiber, mineral fillers, etc. Modified PPO retains the excellent heat resistance, electrical insulation, and dimensional stability of PPO while significantly improving processing flowability, and can be customized for mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and flame retardancy grades according to application requirements.

Features:
• Broadly tunable performance spectrum: By adjusting the PPO/HIPS ratio and the type/content of reinforcing fillers, mechanical strength, heat resistance grade, and processing flowability can be customized across a wide range to meet differentiated requirements of various application scenarios.
• Excellent processability: Compared to pure PPO, m-PPO melt flowability is substantially improved, enabling processing by conventional thermoplastic methods such as injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding, with low mold shrinkage (0.5%–0.7%) and high dimensional accuracy.
• Good mechanical properties: Unfilled grade tensile strength 47–70 MPa, glass-fiber-reinforced grades up to 90–140 MPa; flexural modulus from 2.1 GPa (unfilled) to 8.6 GPa (40% GF), covering a broad spectrum of rigidity and toughness.
• Excellent electrical insulation: Dielectric constant (Dk) 2.7–4.4, dissipation factor (Df) 0.001–0.002, volume resistivity up to 10¹⁵–10¹⁷ Ω·cm, remaining stable across wide temperature and humidity ranges.
• Outstanding adjustable heat resistance: Heat deflection temperature (HDT) can be designed from 77°C to 238°C as needed; PPO/PPS alloy with glass fiber can achieve HDT exceeding 250°C.
• Ultra-low moisture absorption and excellent dimensional stability: 24-hour water absorption 0.06%–0.07%; parts exhibit virtually no dimensional change in humid environments.
• Inherent flame retardancy with upgrade capability: Base grade LOI 29%–35%, minimal flame retardant addition achieves UL94 V-0 rating, meeting stringent safety specifications of the electronics and electrical industry.
